Planning a Fundraiser for Your Non-Profit? Schedule a Golf Event at Spring Valley

What better way to raise funds for your cause than to play golf? When you book your fundraiser at Spring Valley Golf & Lodge, there are several benefits you and your guests can enjoy!
A golf outing is a fun way to raise funds! And it is sure to get guests out on the green for a day of golf, great food, and more!

Group Golf Outings for a Good Cause

Enjoy our well-manicured 18-hole public golf course while taking in the breathtaking views surrounded by stunning farm country. Our course offers a fun and challenging game for beginners and experienced players alike. We can have an outing for up to 32 teams or 128 golfers for your fundraiser at Spring Valley.

Planning Your Golf Outing Fundraiser at Spring Valley

Start by getting your group together. Plan for each volunteer to get at least one team, one gift donation, and one tee sign sponsor together, so you don’t have to do it all yourself. You then need to decide if you need to open a fundraiser checking account and who will be in charge of the account. Then, pick a date and time for your shotgun start at Spring Valley.
Additional decisions you need to make include:
You will need to decide on food items such as:
  • Donuts
  • Coffee
  • Hot dog lunch buffet
  • Steak dinner
  • Beverages
You should also consider getting your pop and water donated, along with ice to keep them cold in the coolers. Are you thinking about beer? You can let your golfers their own from the Hell’s Hollow Bar.
You will also need to decide if you want to pay out the first-place team and what games you want to play during the event, such as:
  • Par 3 game
  • Circle on the green
  • Skins
  • Mulligans
  • Skill games on holes
  • 50/50
You may also consider doing a raffle or a Chinese auction.
Once these decisions are made, you will confirm your date, get the pricing and determine what to charge per golfer and team. Once this is settled, you can begin to make posters, golfer sign-up forms, and donation forms. We also recommend using social media to help promote your fundraiser event.
As the word about the event is spread, you will be able to start accepting teams. Be sure to accept their team payment prior to the golf outing. Collect your donations, make your 11X 14 signs, and collect the gift donations for your raffle or Chinese auction.

What to do Prior to Your Golf Event

Communicate with Spring Valley on the number of golfers and volunteers for the day and determine how many extra lunches and dinners you will need. Let Spring Valley know one week prior so we can be prepared with the meals for the day.
You will also need to let us know how many golfers there will be and give us a list of golf team names so the course can set up the scorecards and starting holes for the event. Carts will be lined up appropriately in the morning, and all teams and names will be on the carts.
The evening before the event, bring out your pop and water and ice to put in the coolers. You will also bring all your signs and gifts and other supplies. The next morning, arrive at the course 1 1/2 hours before the start, organize your volunteers at the game tables and the registration table, and be ready to greet the teams.
After the shotgun start, you are free to relax and sell your raffles and 50/50. After the golfers start to finish up, approximately 4 1/2 hours later, dinners will be served, and you can start passing out prizes and announcing winners.
At the end of the event, gather your stuff, pay your bill give all your volunteers a high five on a job well done!
